What Makes a Mattress a Luxury Mattress?
This article explores the features of a luxury mattress and how it conforms to a “luxury” standard. We talk about the materials that are used (cashmere, memory foam) before moving on to the construction, which is a hybrid of traditional and memory foam.
The word luxury gets tossed around a lot these days. We have luxury airlines that charge for peanuts, we have luxury cars with no leg room. So what makes a luxury mattress?
How do those qualities manifest in a luxury mattress? By giving you an amazing night’s sleep night after night, with a luxury mattress that never compromises on quality. We’re passionate about sleep and it shows. Good thing too, this comes at something of a time of crisis for the average sleeper. The CDC has reported that we are living in the midst of a sleep crisis, with one in three Americans reportedly not getting enough sleep.
Luxury Starts at the Beginning With Quality Materials
You can’t build a strong house frame with rotten wood, and in much the same way you can’t build a luxury mattress when skimping on materials.
Cashmere is a premium material made from the undercoat of cashmere goats. Known in the fashion world for being supremely soft and comfortable, it has the added benefit of also being a great temperature regulator. When we were looking for a material for its custom milled cover, it was a no-brainer to use a cashmere blend to optimize breathability. That means that this is a luxury mattress that you never have to worry about overheating on, unlike some other memory foams which can trap heat. That’s the difference between a really, really good mattress and a true luxury mattress.
The Design is a Mixture of Traditional Box Spring and Memory Foam
Perhaps the biggest difference comes in the way that we engineered our luxury mattress to take the best parts of memory foam AND a spring coiled bed by using both techniques to create a hybrid mattress. First, we developed an innovative system of layering quilted memory foams, super soft foams, and foundational foams to facilitate the correct balance of softness, structure and support.
Many traditional memory foam mattresses would stop there, but we wanted to also include the best parts of a traditional box spring, so we also developed a new technique called the bestrest coil. This is a micro-coil compression system found pocketed in between five different foam zones. The resulting product is much more breathable and regulates temperature better than a solid memory foam. That means that your luxury mattress won’t hold in heat the way that others do. Those microcoils are also more flexible than a traditional spring. This allows the springs to work with the memory foam in unison to contour to your body and support pressure points for the ultimate pressure relief.
So now you know, when we say a luxury mattress, we mean a LUXURY mattress. And with studies showing that sleep is an integral part of your brain’s rest, you’re going to want to make it a priority ASAP. Don’t take our word for it, you can see for yourself first hand what we’re talking about. You’re going to sleep in luxury from here on out.
