Nickname around the office

#susysnacks. I’m in charge of ordering the office munchies.

Hibernating spirit animal:

Definitely a ground squirrel. I move around all day, going from one thing to another. But when I sleep, I’m knocked out.

Strangest nightly ritual:

As soon as I get home, I put on a papaya face mask. If you came to my house, I’d answer the door with a fruit-scented green face. Everyone’s used to it.

Show I’m too scared to watch at night:

I love “Black Mirror” on Netflix—it’s this sci-fi thriller that really gets into the dark side of humanity. Sometimes I’ll read an episode description, and it’ll freak me out, so I’ll delay my watch time until daylight.

Favorite sleep position:

On my stomach, arms under pillow, facing the left, right leg slightly bent, and zzzzzz.

Thing I can’t fall sleep without:

Earplugs! I have a neighbor who turns up his TV volume to, like, 1,000. I complained once and nothing happened. But these earplugs are a gamechanger.

I’m very strict about my bedtime routine—I literally never miss a night, and I have it down to a science.

Weirdest place I’ve ever slept:

In a booth at an Italian restaurant. I was out with friends and insanely carb-loaded for a 10K race I was running the next morning. I had to be asleep for at least 20 minutes, and my friends didn’t even wake me up. I guess I’m grateful (still not sure).

Bedtime ritual I swear by:

I’m very strict about my bedtime routine—I literally never miss a night, and I have it down to a science. First, I take 5mg of melatonin 30 minutes before bed. Then, I spray my pillows with lavender oil and add a few drops into my diffuser. Next, I put on my nighttime moisturizer and eye cream. Last thing: Chamomile tea with a splash of milk. Like I said, I have it down to a science. I guess you could call me a sleep influencer.

Wise words of sleep advice to the world:

I’ve made some of my best decisions when I was well-rested and some of my worst ones when I was exhausted. So, I say, sleep! A lot. And often. Make it a priority. If nothing else, you’ll be way less cranky and way more social, which is clearly the secret to success in life (wink).
